Pepe Porter Mencia is appealingly bright in the glass with a good cherry red colour and violet edges.  On the nose it is intense, with strong varietal expression, the stand out fruit notes are raspberry, redcurrant, black plum which are rounded off with elegant floral aromas.  On the palate it stands out for its harmonious balance, defined fruit and the depth and length of the aftertaste.

Ideal accompaniment to cheese and oriental cuisine and perfect with chicken or light red meat dishes - cooked in wine or with tomato sauces. Or delicious served lightly chilled with simple fare too.

Pepe Porter is a premium quality wine from a careful selection of the best bunches of the Mencia grape from the vineyards in the Monterrei region in North East Spain. It is a delicious and versatile red that can have a place in any cellar.

The Mencía grape occupies only a small part of the world production and that makes it very peculiar.

The Monterrei D.O. has a temperate climate with a continental tendency, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Slate and schist soils are ideal during dry seasons, as they provide aromas in red wines
