Pierre Ferrand Double Cask Réserve 1er Cru Cognac from distinguished boutique producer Pierre Ferrand is a product of the art of ageing in wine barrels. The intricate cognacs created by the process had been a time-forgotten secret until research brought it back to modern use. With Double Cask Réserve Pierre Ferrand became the first cognac producer, to their knowledge, to use this technique in modern times.
Following a second maturation in Banyuls (a French sweet fortified aperitif wine) barrels this cognac is full-bodied and rich with warm notes of vanilla, red fruits, walnuts, cinnamon, and chocolate. Simply beautiful on its own, Double Cask invokes the glowing sensation of sitting with friends in front of the fireplace. As you sip, notice the deep rich flavour brought out by the long ageing of Double Cask uniquely complemented by the luscious rancio of the Banyuls barrels.
