A small but ambitious domaine making some terrific value Burgundy wines. A very natural approach is taken in the vineyard with organic and Biodynamic practices being followed. The plot supplies concentrated berries showing dark fruits of cherry and violets. Twelve months aging in barrel provides body and structure - this is a wine that really over-delivers.

Powerful and elegant, this Domaine du Beauregard Maranges expresses itself with intense aromas of cherry, raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant with a good length on the palate.

About the Producer

Stéphanie and Jérôme (brother and sister) represent the 5th generation of this family estate.

Nestled in Saint Sernin du Plain, just half an hour south of Beaune, the estate extends over the Côtes du Couchois and Maranges vineyards.

The history of this estate dates back to the 1810s, when the first plots of vines were purchased. In 1930, their great-grandfather, Germain Dépernon, began trading, thus laying the foundations of the company. The passion for wine and family know-how have been passed down from generation to generation.

In 1976, it was the turn of their father, Michel, son of Bernard Dépernon and grandson of Germain Dépernon, to take the reins of the estate. He continued to carry on the family tradition and grow a fine business. In 1992, alongside his wife Françoise, Michel acquired new, more prestigious plots, including Maranges, Maranges 1er Cru 'Les Clos Roussots', and Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune.

In 2000, the family business was renamed "Domaine du Beauregard", reflecting an attachment to the beauty of this terroir. Since then, they have been proud to continue this heritage and offer wines that capture the very essence of Burgundy.

Today, they are fully invested in the field honoring Burgundy wines with passion, following their own philosophy of vine cultivation and winemaking. It is with great delight that they invite you to discover this range of wines, the result of a commitment to tradition, quality and innovation.

"At Domaine du Beauregard, we are much more than a wine company. We are a family united by the love of terroir and wine, and we look forward to sharing our passion with you."

Vineyard and Winery

At Domaine du Beauregard their approach to the vineyard favours plowing, the passage of intervines, natural grass cover and organic amendments. This approach aims to maintain the fertility of the soil while nourishing the vines. It is a firm belief that this approach promotes the production of high quality grapes while avoiding excess vigour. While much of the process is Organic the vineyards are not certified as such to allow them to carry out adjustments that they view as necessary to maintain the land and make great wine.

In the cellar, work is carried out with the aim of highlighting the vintage, the terroir, and the appellation of each wine, while minimising the use of inputs.

The wine itself dictates the rhythm of its production. The majority of their wines are aged in French oak barrels including this Maranges.

They place great importance on the lunar cycle in the racking and bottling processes. It is a deliberate choice to carry out these operations according to the lunar phases, in particular the "flower" and "fruit" days, as well as during the waning moon period.

The “flower” day is conducive to the expression of the aromas and flavours of wine. It is a moment when the wine seems to unfold all its aromatic complexity, thus offering an optimal sensory experience. The “fruit” day is chosen to highlight the fruitiness of the wine, giving it additional freshness and balance.

As for the descending moon, this phase is known to promote the clarification and stability of wine. This is the ideal time to proceed with racking and bottling, ensuring that the wines are as pure and stable as possible by the time they reach your table.

"Our know-how lies in the production of Burgundy red wines which are characterised by beautiful aromatic intensity, finesse and a balanced structure."
