Château Le Bourdieu Vertheuil, Haut-Médoc 2010 has moved away from it's youthful appearance of deep colour with violet tints and gone graciously towards tawny with ruby hints. This does not make it any less attractive.
The bouquet opens on notes of violet, cherry and pepper with leather meatiness and old wood thrown in as it opens up. In the mouth it is medium bodied with a tannic framework that is now suave and beautifully smooth. The finish has length with flavours of plums and damsons alongside the friendly touch of quality leather. Château Le Bourdieu Vertheuil, Haut-Médoc 2010 is for drinking now.
Château Le Bourdieu Vertheuil, Haut-Médoc 2010 pairs well with grilled meats, lamb, beef, duck and roast partridge. It is best served at around 16°C and should be poured gently and not decanted.
