Berry Bros. & Rudd's Staoisha 2013 is a single malt whisky from the Hebridean Island of Islay. Distinctly peaty and smoky, the whiskies from this island have become a cult-favourite earning a reputation for bold flavours.
Powerful peat smoke aromas, new leather, cedar, smoked haddock and a coastal breeze create an immediate impression. Vanilla is the undercurrent that keeps everything together, while the palate is filled with peat smoke, wool jumpers, charcoal and ash. Sweet oak and a burst of lemon zest surface, followed by more peat smoke, hints of biscuit and a whisper of coconut in the finish.
It says on the bottle that this Single Malt, Single Cask Scotch Whisky is "Peatier than Granny McPeat waist deep in a peat bog during the Annual Islay Peat Wrestling Championship."
This Berry Bros. & Rudd Staoisha 2013 Single Malt Whisky is one of 302 bottles exclusively for sale in the Independent Bottle Shops of Scotland.
