Bodegas Felix Callejo, Flores de Callejo is an expressive, easy-drinking Tempranillo hailing from Ribera del Duero. It boasts a striking purple colour in the glass and pleasant aromas of morello cherries with floral notes of wildflowers. On the palate, there is a refreshing acidity and intense dark fruit flavours that are balanced by an integrated alcohol and fine tannins. The five months in oak barrels add a subtle hint of oak to the pleasant finish. This lighter-bodied style of Ribera is a delightful combination of delicacy and power.

About the Production and Vintage

The 2021 vintage is characterized by the regular temperatures and rainfall that fell throughout the cycle in the vineyard. It could be considered typical in the area. The period from October 2020 to September 2021 had rainfall of 450 mm, well distributed in winter and spring, in such a way that the vineyard was able to endure the summer with hardly any rain. Temperatures were not excessively cold in winter, causing an advance of more than 10 days in budburst and consequently the cycle was advanced until harvest. Harvest began in late September for the Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). The quality and health of the grapes was exceptional, and they have produced here a wine with great finesse and character.
