Le P'tit Chardo by Bruno LaFon is a perfect match with the maker and the grape hailing from the same region – Burgundy – both Bruno Lafon and Chardonnay have definitely got this in common! The relatively high altitudes of the vineyards selected by Bruno provide the optimal temperate conditions necessary for aroma and tautness to develop in the wine.
This bottling of Le P'tit Chardo is a straightforward, easy-drinking and plump Chardonnay from one of Bruno’s best partner producers. Peach, pineapple and citrus fruits give a round impression on the palate, finishing with a crisp edge, along with hints of nuttiness adding complexity and texture and therefore proving versatile with a wide array of foods.
Pair Le P'tit Chardo with light and delicate foods such as raw and lightly cooked shellfish like crab and prawns, steamed or grilled fish, fish pâtés, fish, chicken or vegetable terrines and pasta or risotto with spring vegetables. Also goes well with creamy vegetable soups.

About the region and producer
Bruno Lafon wines are wines Bruno personally endorses with passion. With more than 30 years of experience in wine-making and viticulture, Bruno has a unique insight and feeling for seeking out exceptional wines across the pricing spectrum. His extensive experiences, first as Head of Comte Lafon in the 1980’s, then as founder of his own estate in the South of France have given him a unique and respected place in the international wine industry.
"When I worked in the family Domaine in Meursaut in the 80s, I had the good opportunity to meet Alain Chapel, an incredible chef who in turn, inspired a generation of chefs. Twice a year, Alain would invite winemakers for what one could say were the 1980’s crème de la crème of France’s vigneron’s. It is thanks to Alain that I had the privilege to share time tasting and learning from some of the greatest wine legends of this era, Vigneron’s such as Henri Jayer, Pierre Ramonet, Hubert de Montille, Pierre Overnoy, Marcel Lapierre, Collete Faller and Gérard Chave among others. At this time, I wasn’t yet 30 years old and found myself hanging on every word. These great people of wine however did not have the ego of “stars” they were humble and talented people, where finance and ratings weren’t related to the wines. It was more about talking about wine, terroir, vineyard and the difficulties and success in a vintage. Alain Chapel considered winemakers and chefs as artisans, as much as our fellow diner who could be a cabinetmaker for example. With their mark on my professional life… I owe them my destiny, making wine. Many years later, my passion for wine led me to not only make wine, but to develop a portfolio of exceptional growers first of all from the South of France and then carefully selected from best terroirs of France, Spain and Italy. I take great enjoyment every day in sharing this passion with the team at Bruno Lafon Selection, who in turn pass the stories and pleasure to the markets of our partners and distributor’s across the USA."
Vineyard and Wine Making
Night-time harvesting, and must clarification at low temperatures, fermentation at 16°-17°C in stainless steel tanks as well as only light filtration before bottling help to protect the beautiful definition of the primary fruits in this wine.
"My favorite Chardonnays are the ones grown on limestone soils lending freshness and balance. I crafted this wine in a simple fashion with evident fruit purity and provenance of place. Buoyed by tangy fruit, this is nothing short of a class act you will very much enjoy." Bruno Lafon
