This has the typically beautiful fresh acidity of Syrah from Crozes Hermitage in the cooler Northern Rhone. This allows the well defined dark friut flavours to stand out alongside the peppery spice which makes this a great food wine, especially with a nice juicy fillet steak. The fruit characterists here are more black fruit like brambles and blackcurrent with hints of mocha and an earthiness also coming through.
Perfect with red meat especially with herbs and aromatic spices, it'll also work fantastically at Barbeque time, with pizza, with pasta and with roasted vegetables.
