Aultmore distillery has opted for small-still distillation with a downward lyne arm, which produces robust flavors but is tempered by the slow running process. This yielded an ideal whisky to take on an oloroso finish, which showcased the malty and appley notes, as well as dried-fruit nuances that give this expression depth and balance.

On the nose, a discernible aroma of sherry and subtle notes of nutmeg syrup and bergamot. On the palate, a blend of grain, apples, oat biscuits, dried fruit and tart orange culminates in a sweet barley sugar finish with a nuanced bitterness.

Very occasionally an exceptional cask stands out, specially selected from the ageing warehouses by Mossburn's Master Blender as worthy of bottling as a single cask. Every cask is unique and this one stands out as exhibiting the classic hallmarks of balance, depth and complexity that only the very best Single Malts can deliver.

This select release has been bottled at cask strength, without any colouring or chill filtration, to showcase the purest expression of the Single Malt's character.
