We're incredibly privileged to have not one, but two of South Africa's top winemakers joining us here in store. Charles Back and John Thorne-Seccombe will be leading us through a fantastic selection of their amazing wines so it's sure to be a great evening! 

Charles Back was a pioneer in the Swartland when he started Spice Route in 1998 after tasting an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc and immediately buying the land on which it was grown. Since then his work has been instrumental in revolutionising the region and establishing it as a producer of quality–driven wines. Spice Route remains one of the best and most credible producers in the Swartland. In 2014 Charles was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award from the International Wine Challenge.

Thorne & Daughters is widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the ‘New Wave’ wine movement in South Africa and produce innovative and unique Cape white blends. Since 2013, John and Tasha Thorne-Seccombe have been working with selected growers across the Western Cape, driven by “a happy synergy of people, place, soil and vines”.
