Vesevo, Beneventano Aglianico is a rugby red wine with violet accents. It has a complex, intense nose of black fruits, spices, coffee, and vanilla. Its tannins are firm yet smooth with a clean dry finish. Perfect for any occasion.

About the Producer

The name Vesevo is the historic name for Vesuvius. The vineyards are located in the Irpinian hills of Campania, potentially one of Italy's most exciting wine producing areas. Despite being so far south, there are large differences here between day and night temperatures, making the harvest here one of the latest in Italy.

Vineyard and Winery

The Vesevo vineyards are situated at between 450 and 550 metres above sea level and benefit from the cool breeze blowing off the Bay of Naples. Over the centuries, this breeze has blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius inland to give the soil here a volcanic character.

On arrival at the winery, the grapes were de-stemmed and crushed delicately to retain the fruit flavours and avoid and bitterness from the seeds. Fermentation took place at 26 °C for 15 days. The wine was then transferred into oak barrels for 8 months maturation.
