About the Producer

Back in 2013, Gin Bothy founder Kim Cameron was busy making traditional home-made jams using locally-sourced fruits and berries. The Jam Bothy stood modestly in the grounds of an Angus coffee shop, but her creations earned recognition in the form of a World Jampionship award. 

As the business grew, it was also producing ever larger volumes of fruit juices left over from the jam-making process. Rather than have it go to waste, Kim looked for a way to make good use of this resource.

Her mum suggested mixing the juices with gin. Some mother’s wisdom led to new opportunities in the world of Mother’s Ruin, and the Jam Bothy became the Gin Bothy.

Today, things have come full circle: after they soak the fruit in gin, it goes back into the jam-making process – raspberry & gin jam! They’re making the most of what nature provides.

The Bothy family has now expanded to include a range of handcrafted Scottish spirits and traditional foods and is well worth a visit.
