Alois Lageder 'Misto Mare' Vigneti delle Dolomiti offers a straw yellow wine with subtle, multi-layered aromas of floral and fruity notes of citrus and peach. This medium-bodied wine is fresh and juicy, featuring a delicate hint of tannin that adds liveliness and a long, satisfying finish. Ideal to enjoy now and for at least the next year, it works beautifully as an aperitif or pairs well with vegetarian dishes or sushi and sashimi, enhancing food with its balanced and refreshing character.

About the Producer

Alois Lageder has a rich, family-owned heritage spanning six generations. Each generation has shaped the company in its own unique way. In 1823, Johann Lageder laid the foundation stone and began trading in wine alongside his work as a wagon maker. Subsequently, his successors bought the first vineyards and began making wine themselves. A significant development occurred in 1934 when the family acquired the Löwengang Estate in Magrè, where their headquarters are still located today. In the 1990s, they set out to achieve a level of quality that was not only pioneering for their winery but also for the Alto Adige wine region. With a holistic approach to viticulture, the vineyards are cultivated biodynamically and they encourage their viticultural partners to adopt either organic or biodynamic practices. Their stylish wines capture their distinctive geographical heritage with artisanal flair.

Vineyard and Winery

The grapes for Misto Mare come from vineyards which are still in conversion to organic. Once the conversion is complete, they are incorporated into the main range, and others take their place. In addition, the grapes from marginal rows are included in this wine, i.e. from vines that are cultivated organically or biodynamically but lie next to conventional vineyards. Due to possible drift of pesticides from the neighbouring conventional vineyards, the grapes from these outermost rows are vinified separately.

The grapes were gently pressed and fermented using natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatics. A portion of the blend underwent a short period of skin contact to enhance texture and complexity. The different varieties were vinified separately and then blended before bottling. Partial malolactic fermentation added roundness to the wine. Minimal intervention ensures the wine's pure expression of the terroir.
