Arran 10 Year Old Arran Barley Single Malt Whisky has a herbaceous and citrus-driven nose with a honeyed sweetness, vanilla undertones, and a delicate hint of aniseed. On the palate there are warming spice and ginger notes blended with biscuity character. Oak leads the on the taste, supported by vanilla and citrus, whilst an intricate oily mouthfeel enhances the fruit profile. The finish is a good length and has a crispness, with citrus brightness giving way to lingering ginger and aniseed warmth. A superbly crafted Island single malt at 50% ABV. Enjoy neat or with a splash of water to unlock the full complexity.

About the Producer

Production began at their first distillery in beautiful Lochranza almost 30 years ago. Many other locations were considered at the time, but the proximity to Loch na Davie provided a rather special source of fresh water for distilling. It was clear that this would hold them in good stead in the years to come. The second distillery opened in the south of the island in 2019 at Lagg, where they make a very unique style of peated single malt Scotch Whisky.

The area is home to some of the purest water in all of Scotland – every drop of Arran Single Malt starts its life as rainwater which pools at Loch na Davie in the beautiful hills behind the distillery. The clear water cascades down the hillside, through six unassuming waterfalls, each one purifying the water further. The name of the burn, Easan Biorach, means 'Sharp Waterfalls' in Gaelic. The purity of the water means that they can create a clean, sweet dram which is entirely natural and unadulterated. They never add caramel or strip flavour out using chill filtration.
