Meet the Team!

New website, new team! It’s all change over here at Aitken Wines!

We’d like to introduce you to our newest member of the Aitken’s Team – Stuart. Some of you may recognise him from The Wine Press, where he was the assistant manager from the very beginning of the bar in 2015. There, he discovered his passion for wine, and honed his tasting skills, excelling in his WSET 2 exams in June 2017.

In January of this year, both Stuart and Kirsty received Merit grades for both tastings and theory modules in their WSET 3 exams, qualifying them both as sommeliers. Stuart switched from on-trade to off-trade in May of this year, and is already an invaluable member of the team. His take home wine of the moment is either a Greywacke Pinot Gris, or Martin Códax Albariño.

WSET stands for Wine & Spirits Education Trust, and is a global organisation which arranges courses and exams for all things boozy. Founded in 1969, it’s regarded as one of the world’s leading providers of wine education. All of our staff have achieved their WSET level 3 award, meaning that you can trust our informed advice when you’re buying wine with us.
