Il Meridione Catarratto has ripe tropical fruit aromas with hints of peach and a lightly herbal note. Expect stone fruit characters on the palate, gently honeyed while finishing with fresh citrus acidity. This wine would be ideal as an aperitif or to accompany seafood, grilled fish and salads.

About the Producer

Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte. Our aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's winemaking team of Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese. We source from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom we have long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Siciliy, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.

Vineyard and Winery

The catarratto grapes are sourced from the Marsala area on the west coast of Sicily, and from hillside vineyards near Alcamo. Gentle pressing is followed by cool, slow fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steal tanks using selected yeasts. The wine was bottled young after a short period of ageing on fine lees in stainless steal.
