About the Producer

The history of the Mandois house dates back to 1735, when Jean Mandois, then based in Epernay, became a winegrower in the Côte des Blancs. His great-grandson, Victor, began to vinify his wines in 1867 and settled in the heart of the village of Pierry in 1905. Today managed by Claude Mandois, 9th generation, the house presses and vinifies its entire 37-hectare vineyard in Pierry. Out of these 37 hectares planted with 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, 32 hectares have been certified organic since 2020.

The continental influence is responsible for favorable sunshine in the summer. The oceanic influence brings water in regular quantities with little annual thermal contrasts. This double influence offers the guarantee of a constant and moderate rainfall favoring an almost ideal water supply and essential to the quality of the grapes (average volume of precipitation = 700mm per year).

The wine is vinified 90 % in stainless steel tanks and 10 % oak barrels. It has 36 months on lees developing complexity and texture.
