"The Blue Label is the producer's best-known classic Aszú wine, sold as Red Label in the USA. A refreshing nose of citrus blossom, elderflower, marmalade and ginger spices. Refreshing acidity balances a comparatively light palate of apricot, bruised yellow apple, tangerine peel and white pepper. The sugar level sits at 158 g/l, which is well-balanced by the crisp mineral acidity (7.9g/l)."

"Heady aromas of golden currants steeped in honey and orange blossom. Incredibly fresh and dancing on tiptoe despite the sweetness. Fresh oranges frame kumquats in cinnamon syrup, and gossamer-fine threads of Earl Grey tea weave through the wine bringing angle and more freshness and easing the sweetness into something that’s almost thirst-quenching. A real delight."

About the Producer
During the period of Communist rule in Hungary (1939-1945), the production of high-quality Tokaji wines declined and nearly became extinct due to a focus on quantity over quality. However, since the fall of Communism and the establishment of The Royal Tokaji Wine Company in 1989, a partnership between local wine growers in Mád and international investors, there has been a resurgence of these fine wines.
Vineyard and Winery
Fine quality Aszú berries with good flavour, balance and perfect botrytis were macerated in fermenting must for two days. After pressing and finishing fermentation, the wines were filled into 300 and 500 litre Hungarian oak casks in our extensive, deep, underground cellars to mature for over two years. The final blends were carefully crafted in the spring of 2020.
