This Caruso & Minini Frapello is a ruby red wine with garnet reflections, fresh notes of spices and wild berries on the nose, and a rounded, medium-bodied feel with ripe smooth tannins. With a long and persistent finish, it pairs well with both meat and fish, as well as medium-aged cheeses. A cracking wine for any occasion.

About the Producer

"At Caruso & Minini, we believe that our family roots and winemaking traditions are the foundation of our exceptional wines. The winery is located in Marsala, in a baglio built in yellow tuff, in 1904, then renovated and equipped with a reception, wine bar, shop, tasting rooms and barrel cellar. It is here that our grapes are transported and transformed into labels oriented towards excellence, surrounded by the iconic scents of lemon, pomegranate, carob, olive, aloe. We are aware of working in a precious soil and climate context, where we lead the vines in a certified organic regime, having also adhered to the Equalitas certification protocol. The rows are accompanied by flowers and plants that attract pollinators, helping the soil to breathe, in a perfect green philosophy. The hinterland has a calcareous-clayey soil, rich in small stones, which protect the roots from excessive heat, and are the basis of a soil with limited productivity, not exceeding 80 quintals per hectare. With the experience of those who have cultivated it for generations, our goal is to give the centuries-old wines of our area a modern expression and in step with the times."

Vineyard and Winery

Elegance and minerality are the distinctive elements of “Frappello”, the legacy of two vines in a unique territory: the Marsala hinterland. The harvest of Frappato and Nerello Mascalese takes place, expertly and by hand, among the lights and scents of the gentle hills that surround the area. It continues in the cellar with maceration and fermentation, at a controlled temperature of 25°C for 15-20 days; steel also for malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged partly in 225-liter barriques for 4 months, the rest for 8 months in steel tanks.
