Perched along the windswept Moray Firth, Inchgower is renowned among blenders and single malt devotees for its distinctive, saline backbone—with only a fraction of its output ever escaping into single-cask bottlings. Released as part of our curated Coasts & Shores collection, this 14-year-old expression showcases how coastal terroir interacts with woodcraft. Hand-selected by our Spirits Curator and finished in an unctuous Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, Cask #301032 balances Inchgower’s bracing sea-spray edge with the velvety richness of sun-dried Spanish grapes. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration or added colour.
Nose: An inviting, complex bouquet opens with stewed dark plums, creamy Italian tiramisu, and fresh orchard rhubarb, underscored by Inchgower’s unmistakable signature of sea salt and crushed oyster shells.
Palate: Unfolds across the tongue with a wave of plump sultanas, medjool dates, and black figs. As the sweetness broadens, a prickle of sweet cinnamon bark, toasted walnuts, and a maritime coastal breeze bring harmony and focus.
Finish: Long, warming, and deeply satisfying. Lingering notes of chewy butter toffee, vintage oak, and warming spice rest atop a sustained sherried foundation.
