"This is an explosion and celebration of clementines and ripe physalis and golden pears and golden wrinkled apples. Golden fruit. It really delivers an abundance of joyful, splendid, mouthwatering fruit with a sticky spoonful of jam and passion-fruit cheesecake. I love this. Such a happy wine that finishes, unexpectedly, with the fresh breath of apple mint!"

About the Producer

DaschBosch crafts elegant wines and experimental wines whilst upholding traditional methods of wine-making and craftsmanship, since 1754, when the farm land was granted by the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope, Rijk Tulbagh. Their wines reflect the vastness of the South African landscape and reflect the decades of vines growing in one place, in the unyielding sun, the cold winter rain, the storms and winds, on a mountain, on a plain somewhere which produces these delicate but powerful wines.

Vineyard and Winery

The Hanepoot grapes for this wine are from timeworn, gnarly vines which bear a meagre yield, the vines are over 120 years old (South Africa only started recording vine age from 1900). Small bunches of concentrated and perfumed Muscat d'Alexandrie fruit are hand harvested, the juice fortified with a pure spirit. After which the wine is aged with 3 years of barrel maturation.
