A pure expression of Palomino Fino, the grapes come from the legendary Balbaína vineyards. Benefitting from cool Poniente winds and brilliant Albariza soil, the wine was made in Dominio de las Ánimas. Layered with an energetic citric and floral character the pristine Albariza is evident with a refreshing savory and mineral texture. Balanced with integrated vivacious acidity, the finish is persistent and cleansing.
Vineyard and Winery
The Balbaína vineyard is a historic pago (single-vineyard area) in the heart of the Jerez Sherry district, renowned for its brilliant white albariza soil and Atlantic influence. Located between Jerez and El Puerto de Santa María, it is celebrated for producing delicate, fresh, and saline wines, with key grape varieties being Palomino Fina for white wines and Tintilla for reds. Situated 8–10 km from the Atlantic Ocean, Balbaína features prominent albariza soil, specifically tosca de barajuela (laminated limestone), which retains water for the dry summer months. Wines from this area often exhibit a "ripe but fresh" character, with notable saline freshness and minerality due to the maritime climate.
