Critic Review

Decanter Magazine: 92Pts (2018 Vintage)

"Grown on the calcareous soils of Gualtallary, in a vineyard that sits above 1,300m, this is a pure expression of Riesling. Touches of green apple, lime and herbs in a medium to light body, citrus acidity that projects to the end with slight mineral notes. An adorably refreshing white."

About the Producer

Doña Paula is a dynamic producer based in the heart of Mendoza. They acquired their first vineyard in 1997 in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo. This is prime Malbec country and Doña Paula set their sights on terroir expression from the outset. They have subsquently added a further 3 estates in different areas of the Uco Valley, setting themselves up for longevity and consistency. Each vineyard is situated at altitude, ranging between 950 and 1350m, with great attention paid to their specific terroir and creating wines true to their place of origin.

Vineyard and Winery

The grapes are hand-picked during the day time, the first week of March. A very careful, protective destemming and pressing process is carried out.

Fermentation takes place at low temperatures, between 12 and 15 °C (53.6 – 59 °F), in stainless steel tanks, to preserve the primary fruit aromas.
