Dorchadas 11-year-old Dominican Republic Agricole rum, part of their Washed Ashore Single Cask range is a rare single cask expression finished in a peated quarter cask. It spent 9 years maturing in bourbon barrels before 2 years in an ex-Islay Scotch barrel, delivering complex layers of hot orange, buttery banana, vanilla, burnt biscuits, creamy filter coffee, and hints of spicy oak and pine. At a robust 62.3% ABV and limited to just 139 bottles, it’s a distinctive, savoury dram that pairs exceptionally well with barbeque flavours - a unique release not to be missed or repeated.
About the Producer
The creators of Dorchadas are Rory Hunter and David Taylor, both local to the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. As such they cherish the heritage of Fife and draw on it for inspiration. At East Neuk Spirit Co, they craft premium spirits that capture its essence and let you take a trip down memory lane with every sip. Their name and branding are inspired by the shadowy history of the east neuk -- the tales, caves, and hidden routes smugglers used to carry out their illicit deeds. Signs of their exploits can still be seen today, from the walls of old buildings to the beaches. Their families had a direct link to this shadowy past -- Rory's ancestor was a coastguard tasked with hunting smugglers. His flintlock pistol has been passed down through the generations and so their narrative was born.
