Miltonduff Distillery, located just south of Elgin in the iconic Speyside region, is renowned for producing sweet, grassy and floral single malts with a hint of spice. On the nose you are welcomed with a blend of rich spices, layered with an essence of buttered-crust apple pie and a delicate hint of lemon zest. The palate is brimming with vibrant notes of Seville orange, freshly cut grass, honey, caramel and vanilla. Long and pleasing finish, with dry oak undertones perfectly balanced by a subtle, lingering spicy kick.

Established in 1824 by Andrew Peary and Robert Bain, Miltonduff distillery stands on the site of Pluscarden Abbey, a former Benedictine monastery, whose mill is believed to have once produced the area’s very first whisky. While independent bottlings like this one are few, they fully showcase the remarkable character of this light, floral and elegant malt.

The distillery draws its water from the Black Burn, which was blessed by an abbot in the 15th century and was likely used by monks to make an early form of whisky - known then as aqua vitae or the ‘water of life’. This deep connection to monastic traditions gives Miltonduff a fascinating link to Scotland’s historical roots in whisky production.

About the Producer

Born in 2025, Epic Drams celebrates the authenticity and diversity found in single cask Scottish Whisky. Founded by Euan Rice, we believe whisky is primarily made to be appreciated and enjoyed, not collected and left gathering dust on a shelf as an investment (although that is also a very worthwhile objective), too expensive to drink.

Our main aim therefore is to provide exceptional, unique single cask whisky at an affordable price point, to encourage appreciation and enjoyment of the whisky in a glass rather than in a bottle in a display cabinet.

Every cask we source is a one-off, containing a never-to-be-repeated whisky just waiting to be discovered, opened, appreciated and enjoyed.
