Deep cherry red, bright and clear. Expressive, vibrant. Notes of ripe fruit, spices, and truffles. A mineral hint of the limestone soils emerges. Fruity and powerful, it conveys a sense of balance and subtle maturity. Persistent, vibrant, with fruit and roasted notes on the finish. Valdecuriel's Crianza has the ability to accompany you throughout the entire meal, pairing perfectly with all kinds of dishes, such as pasta arrabiata, all types of meat, or typical Castilian dishes like a good garlic soup or potatoes a la importancia.

About the Producer

For the last 20 years, Valdecuriel have been restoring a wine-making tradition, deeply rooted twenty centuries in the past. Standing more than 800 meters above sea level, dwarfed by imposing white stone scarps, they grow grapes with unique characteristics that make wine with a deep, intense and joyful flavour.

Vineyard and Winery

The estate occupies a steeply sloping valley, flanked by two impressive limestone cliffs typical of the Castilian plateau. 800m altitude South facing. Rugged slopes, from which the banks of the Duero River can be seen. Vineyard planted during the 1990s. Very poor, white, calcareous soils with a clay loam texture. Continental Mediterranean climate. Hand-harvested in early October.

After a pre-fermentation maceration of at least 48 hours, fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 25 ºC with daily pump-overs.

The wine matured for 14 months in new and one-use French and American oak barrels. It rested in the bottle for 6 months before release.
