About the Producer
In 1865, the birth of Vallformosa was marked by the cultivation of vineyards near the Masía La Sala in Vilobí del Penedès, Barcelona. By 1938, the first bottles of Vallformosa cava were crafted, establishing the company as a responsible and sustainable producer. Environmental stewardship is at the core of their operations, with all wines requiring 40% less energy and 99% of waste being recycled. Additionally, Vallformosa is dedicated to promoting organic practices and currently 20% of their grapes are organically grown, with a goal to expand this percentage year after year.
Vineyard and Winery
The winemaking process consists of a soft press (bladder press), to extract the must. Then it is continuously stirred for 24 hours and longer, and fermentation by individual grape varieties is carried out. Once fermented, the blend is made. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle. The wine is matured for 12 months on the lees.
