With Bobal Icon the Winemaker is seeking to offer a different yet harmonious wine with a personality expressing the unique vineyards which are over 80 years old.  These are vineyards that were inherited from their grandparents that they themselves planted so they really wanted to show off that the microclimate and privileged location of the vineyards makes a difference.

They do not disappoint!

Vega Tolosa Bobal Icon is made with the best selection of grapes from their vineyards and is intense ruby red ​in ​colour.  On the nose there are hints of plum and cherry jam with additional notes of, balsamic, spicy herbs and minerals.  On the palate it is soft and broad, with gentle acidity and a lengthy aftertaste of cherries, plums and blackcurrant jam.

The wine was aged for six months in French oak barrels giving a roundedness and smoothing out the palate beautifully.

Try Vega Tolosa Bobal Icon with cured and semi-cured Manchego cheeses, atascaburras (a traditional dish consisting mainly of cod, potatoes and strong on the garlic) and herbed lamb chops.
