Experience the vibrant flavours of Medici Ermete 'La Favorita' Lambrusco, a semi-sparkling red wine with notes of red fruit and violets. Its crisp raspberry and blackcurrant finish will leave your palate fully satisfied. A perfect choice for those who appreciate a delicate and fleshy off-dry wine. Also works as a very fine accompaniment to red meat dishes.

About the Producer

The Medici winery has been producing a top-of-the-range Lambrusco for over a
century. It all began with Remigio Medici, who founded a wine cellar in the late 19th
century, with the aim of making the most of the family vineyards, located between the
Via Emilia and the hills of the Enza valley. Today, the company owns 60 hectares of
land spread out among the finest wine-growing areas in the Emilia-Romagna region.
They follow a philosophy of uncompromising quality and have been duly rewarded by
superb reviews and awards such as Tre Bicchieri, placing Lambrusco among Italy's top
wines. The Favorita range is the latest creation in this long history of passionate
winemakers.

Vineyard and Winery

What lies behind the family's success, is the idea of creating a close link between the
individual vineyards and the wines produced, along with a meticulous selection of the
grapes, to ensure the highest quality. The Tenuta Quercioli Estate, birthplace of this
wine, is located in the valley of the River Enza, in the Lambrusco Reggiano DOC area.
There are 60 different Lambrusco grapes varieties in Emilia Romagna, this wine is made
from the Lambrusco Salamino and Lambrusco Marani varieties, which are planted in
La Favorita estate. Trained according to the Cordon method, the yields are carefully
controlled and are maintained at 30 to 40% lower than the quantity required to comply
with the regulations, which govern the DOC.

The grapes were fermented under temperature controlled conditions with selected
yeasts, with traditional maceration lasting three to four days. This Lambrusco was made
according to the Charmat method or 'Metodo Italiano', where the secondary
fermentation took place in tank to obtain the sparkling wine. When the secondary
fermentation was complete, the wine was gently filtered and bottled to retain freshness
and the purity of fruit.
