Hand-crafted wine from Spain created by noted Scottish winemaker Pamela Geddes. Concentrated Monastrell from 40-year-old vines with well-integrated, lively Shiraz and toasty French oak adds complexity to the wine. The wine is minimally filtered to conserve the natural colours and flavour, so a slight sediment or 'wine diamonds' is a natural occurrence. Vibrant garnet colour with lifted fruit, driven nose (blackberries and blackcurrants) with spicy notes and hints of smoky, toasty oak. The palate is silky and round, complemented by ripe tannins. Good red meat, game and hearty pasta all deserve a glass of El Gordito!
