Viña Muriel Rioja Reserve Blanco is an enticing deep yellow colour, heading towards rich golden. It boasts a complex and harmonious blend of citrus fruits, white flowers, fine vanilla, and toasted oak maturation. Enjoy its cushioned soft texture, remarkable freshness, and intense volume on the palate. Perfect for pairing with soups, creamy sauced dishes of both fish and white meats. It is also an ideal wine for soft cheeses. Serve chilled but definitely not too chilled to get the most out of this exquisite, delicious wine!
Critic Review
Decanter Magazine: 92pts
"From 30-year-old Viura vineyards planted outside Elciego. Fermented in French oak barrels and aged eight months in barrel, it then spends 18 months in bottle before release. Fine, toasty cedar aromas. Expect echoes of lemon and a stony minerality in the mouth. Finishes long, with a limpid freshness."

Vineyard and Winery
Located on the El Gallo estate, 2 Km to the east from the centre of Elciego (Rioja Alavesa). Mainly oriented to the south, the climate is Continental Mediterranean, with a strong Atlantic influence. The soil is made up of Clay-limestone, very poor and perfectly suited to the 30-year old Viura vines, grown in both gobelet and trellis-trained systems. The grapes are picked by hand and in boxes, during the first half of October. After a delicate pressing of the grapes, the must is fermented for 20 days in fine-grained French oak barrels. Aging: 8 months in the same barrels, plus a minimum of 18 months in the bottle, to gain the complexity and roundness that make the wine so special.
