A single vineyard, extended bottle aged Rioja Reserva. French oak brings cedar, smoke and dried fruit character.

Viña Muriel Rioja Reserva Tinto has a beautiful, medium intensity, burgundy colour and bright highlights. An expertly crafted Tempranillo, it features a complex and intense aroma with notes of ripe black fruit and French oak aging scents of cedar. There is a powerful structure with rounded tannins making this a highly drinkable, and yet age-worthy wine.

Smooth and elegant, showcasing the great potential of Tempranillo for ageing. The plummy fruit leads to delicate yet intense complex notes of spices, aromatic herbs and tobacco. It pairs especially well with roast lamb, chops with vine shoots, fish in sauce and smoked and cured cheeses. 

Vineyard and Winery

The Tempranillo Grapes for Viña Muriel Rioja Reserva Tinto come from the Elciego Alavesa area. The original vines grow on very poor calcareous soils with a loamy-clay texture. The vineyard is cultivated mainly with the traditional goblet method.

Fermentation and maceration process for 20 days in stainless steel tanks with daily pump-overs for optimal extraction of colour and tannins.

Aged for 24 months with three rackings in American and French oak barrels with a capacity of 225 litres.

There is an extra maturation in the bottle for two years before its release on the market.
