Tasting Notes & Food Pairings
Pours a brilliant, translucent ruby-garnet in the glass with a pale pink rim. The nose is lifted and immediately enticing, bursting with freshly picked raspberries, wild strawberries, red cherries, and dried garrigue herbs, rounded out by a faint dusting of white pepper.
On the palate, it is light, bright, and wonderfully thirst-quenching. At a modest 12% ABV, it keeps things nimble without lacking character; flavours of crunchy summer berries, ripe plum, and cranberry are carried by crisp acidity and ultra-fine, gossamer tannins. Served cellar-cool or lightly chilled straight from the fridge, it drinks cleanly and finishes with lingering red fruit and a mouth-watering citrus snap.
Food Pairings:
An exceptional red for relaxed, casual dining—particularly in warmer weather. It works wonders alongside a classic charcuterie board of salami, air-dried ham, and cornichons, or simple grilled Mediterranean vegetable skewers. It also pairs effortlessly with roast chicken, seared salmon fillets, a warm goat's cheese salad, or homemade flatbreads topped with spiced lamb and pomegranate.
About the Producer
Regard d'Artiste is a creative project established under the guidance of LGI Wines, an innovative cooperative based in the historic stronghold of Carcassonne. Founded in 1999, LGI was created with an ambition to bridge the gap between traditional French wine-growing heritage and modern, fruit-focused, accessible wine styles.
The 'Regard d'Artiste' line takes its cues from the Mediterranean art and café culture of Southern France—unpretentious, expressive, and designed to bring people together around simple good food. Backed by certified sustainable viticulture (holding France's HVE Level 3 environmental credentials), the focus is squarely on crafting refreshing, lower-intervention wines that let the natural brightness and charm of Languedoc fruit speak for themselves.
Vineyard & Winery
Viticulture & Terroir:
The grapes are sourced from selected, sustainably managed vineyards across the Hérault département in Languedoc. Here, the Mediterranean sun delivers reliable ripening, while maritime breezes sweep in from the Gulf of Lion to preserve essential freshness and natural acidity in the grapes. Soils are a patchwork of clay-limestone and alluvial gravel terraces, providing steady drainage and curbing excessive vine vigour to yield clean, healthy fruit with bright aromatics.
Winemaking & Maturation:
Harvesting is carried out in the cool hours of the early morning to protect the delicate primary fruit character from heat and oxidation. In the cellar, each grape variety—Cinsault for floral aromatics and freshness, Grenache for juicy red berry fruit, and Merlot for soft mid-palate roundness—is vinified separately. The fruit undergoes a gentle, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats with a short, light maceration to extract vibrant colour and pure aromas without drawing heavy, astringent tannins. The wine remains completely unoaked, resting briefly on fine lees before being blended, fined using vegan-friendly methods, and bottled early to lock in pure drinkability.
