About the Producer

The house Joseph Perrier was founded in 1825 and is located in Chalons-en-Champagne.  Created by Joseph Perrier, it is situated in a former coacking inn. Joseph Perrier quickly found success, especialy abroad. Perrier, Pithois and Fourmon are the names of the people who have run this great house, all from the same family, whether passed from father to son or to cousin over six generations.  Champagne Joseph Perrier is an independant, family run Champagne House.

The 23 hectares of vineyard are idealy situated on south facing slopes above the Marne.  Only the best grapes are harvested for Jospeh Perrier through meticulous selection and piclking by hand into small baskets to preserve the delicacy and quality of the fruit. Thanks to a remarkable history Joseph Perrier is a unique Champagne House with a heritage passed down through two centuries celebrating its 200th year in 2025.

One notable example of the significance of this great house is that British Airways chose Joseph Perrier for the first London to New York Concorde flight in 1976.

Vineyard and Winery

Joseph Perrier, Cuvee Josephine Brut, is made from grapes carefully selected from prestigious vineyards in Ambonnay, Sacy, Cumières, Bergères-les-Vertus, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. With only 5g/L dosage, this champagne boasts a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Spring turned out very dry for the Champagne region, despite a little rain in May, followed by heavy rainfall in July and August. Finally, the end of summer was unexpectedly hot, sunny and very dry, providing the perfect conditions for the grapes to Ripen.
