The Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a beautifully smooth and easy drinking whisky which carries great quality to all the senses. First you encounter a balanced yet sweet fruitiness alongside sherry on the nose with layers of honey and vanilla following. The taste is where that incredible smoothness really appears with mellow flavours including nutty sweetness, cinnamon and a perfect quantity of the aforementioned sherry from the casking. The finish is warming and shows good length.
About the Producer
Balvenie distillery was established in 1892 by William Grant, who began producing whisky on May 1st, 1893 at the abandoned Balvenie New House. In 1923, Grant's son John expanded the distillery for the first time, and in 1971, the first official bottling of Balvenie single malt whisky was released. In 2023, Kelsey McKechnie was appointed as Malt Master, making her one of the youngest women in the world to hold this rare profession.
