About the Producer
Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm’s quiet periods; midsummer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.
The barley variety Publican was grown in the 43ac field and was harvested by John and Sandy on the 28th & 29th August 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010.
Daftmill Winter 2011 Release, Lowland Single Malt Whisky is from 27 first fill Bourbon barrels which were filled in December 2011 and then matured until bottling in 2024. This release is limited to only 7500 bottles.
