Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky has a subtle woody flavour with a medium body. On the nose, it has distinct Highland aromas, such as linseed oil and toffee, with a hint of fresh acidity. The whisky is well-balanced on the palate, drying off with a lingering, woody finish. Enjoy the complex flavour of this 12-year-old single malt whisky.
About the Producer
A close neighbour to the Sovereign's Highland Estate, Balmoral, the Lochnagar Distillery was established in 1845. It was soon visited by an approving Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and shortly after this became Royal Lochnagar.
One of Scotland's smallest distilleries, Royal Lochnagar remains true even today to its simple origins as a farm. Whisky is still made here in old stone buildings and even the former stables and corn lofts are put to good use.
Spring water flows down to the distillery through the Balmoral Estate from the lower slopes of Lochnagar, the forbidding summit to the south. The exquisite little copper pot-still, again among the smallest in Scotland, makes a most refined Malt, fit for all occasions.
