About the Producer
Montecalvo is a large cooperative of around 1,000 members, founded in 1960. Its 1,800 hectares of vineyards are cultivated mainly with Falanghina, but also Aglianico, Greco and Fiano, on soils ranging from alluvial to volcanic - 30km to the north of the city of Benevento.
Vineyard and Winery
The Falanghina grapes for this wine by Montecalvo are Guyot-trained and grow in limestone and clay soils at 300-400 metres altitude. Harvested in the last half of September, they are gently pressed and fermented in steel for 10 days at controlled temperatures, with no malolactic fermentation.
