The expert craftspeople of Auchentoshan go to great lengths to discover the ideal wood for their whiskies. This exceptional single malt Scotch Whisky, made from American Oak, is carefully aged in the finest bourbon casks acquired from American Distilleries, resulting in a perfectly balanced and exceptionally smooth whisky. Auchentoshan American Oak Single Malt Whisky has a golden amber colour and a nose of sweet vanilla, subtle coconut, and citrus zest. The vibrant palate is impressively smooth, with prominent notes of coconut, creamy vanilla, and peachy stone fruit. The finish is a rich toffee with spicy undertones.
About the Producer
Established in the Dunbartonshire estate of Auchentoshan in 1823 by an engineer from Greenock. Who manufactured the ‘inter alia’ distillery plant. A German bomb raid severely damaged the distillery, destroying a warehouse. Whisky production was stopped during World War II, due to the targeting of the River Clyde and its shipyards. Happily it was re-established soon after and to great effect too.
Now owned by Suntory, Auchentoshan new make spirit is the highest distillate produced by any Single Malt distillery in Scotland. Because they distill away all the impurities in the liquid, strong notes of fruit and citrus come through. It also makes the spirit more prone to the epic woodiness that comes from the casks in maturation. This makes Auchentoshan the smoothest, most delicate tasting Single Malt Scotch whisky.
