This is actually the second Glenglassaugh they've produced. The very first bottling in 2019 was also a Glenglassaugh, but a very different beast. That was a young, heavily peated whisky from a very active sherry cask. This is a much older, non-peated spirit that has been slowly ageing away for 15 years in a Madeira cask. Madeira aged single malts are not that unusual but are almost always seen as a finish. This is a full term maturation. It was felt there was a real synergy between the Glenglassaugh spirit and the Madeira cask which has created a beautifully refined single malt.

About the Producer

Bramble Whisky Co was formed as the passion project by two bartenders, Mike Aikman and Jas Scott. As a company, they started buying the odd cask of whisky back in 2007 and released their first bottling in 2017. To date (2024) there have still only been six casks bottled, so around one a year. The plan is to only release it if, and when, it is thought to be good enough!

Each one is from a single barrel so is likely to contain anything from 150 to 600 bottles, depending on the size of barrel, age etc. Super limited, when they are gone they will never be seen again. Each bottling features a label created by different artists.
