The Lagrein Rosato from Castel Firmian in the Italian wine-growing region of DOC Trentino is a fresh, invigorating and pure rosé. In the glass, this wine shines a bright pink with light violet highlights. The bouquet enchants the nose with lots of red berry fruit - above all raspberry, strawberry and some redcurrant. This is accompanied by subtle floral nuances. With a vibrant acidity and fresh fruitiness, this Italian rosé wine skillfully captures the palate. The finish has a pleasant length. Well chilled, this dry rosé from Italy is a welcome aperitif. But this wine is also a delight with all kinds of antipasti, light pasta dishes or fine rice dishes.
About the Producer
Mezzacorona has cultivated our vineyards in Trentino since 1904, producing harmonious, elegant and fragrant wines, like the land they come from. They work and live alongside nature, respecting time and nature’s ways of gifting our lands with our wine. Sustainability is deeply rooted and has always played a vital role. Sustainability determines our choices, words and actions: from the way our winegrowing members support each other, to the sustainable practices with which we grow our grapes and produce our wines.
Vineyard and Winery
Mezzacorona is a driving force behind the quality of Trentino wines, with a state of the art winery handling fruit both from the companys own extensive vineyard holdings and from some 1,300 growers. Castel Firmian, the 15th century castle overlooks the Rotaliano plain in Trentino, and this rosé wine named after it is crisp and refreshing. It flourishes on the sun-drenched hills, where mineral-rich soils prevail. The unique microclimate ensures perfect ripening of the grapes.
