As a powerful wine from a very fine vintage, Chateau de Rochemorin Rouge features a lovely deep red colour with purple highlights. Its pleasant nose reveals notes of black fruits, while its supple attack and tannic structure provide good volume and sweetness. This wine pairs particularly well with stews and dishes like duck breast or lamb chops with garlic and herbs. Also great with a charcuterie platter.
In the right conditions thie will age gracefully for around 10 to 15 years.

"Smooth and elegant, a ton of personality, with grilled roasted rosemary and damson fruit. Sexy and great value, this is a lovely wine and showcases the success of Jacques Lurton's influence at his family estates."

About the Producer
Château de Rochemorin belonged to the great philosopher and writer Charles Louis de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu, in the 18th century. Among other famous works, he was the author of the "Persian Letters". Montesquieu was a fine ambassador for the red wines of Rochemorin among his friends, acquaintances and the notables he met during his trips throughout Europe.
Now run by Les Vignobles André Lurton, currently one of the largest wineries in the Bordeaux region, and a family company.
André Lurton, the company’s founder, was a wine maker. For almost 70 years, he dedicated his life to his vines, as only a man born in a wine chateau could do. In March 2012, following a restructuration of the company, Credit Agricole Grands Crus subscribed to a capital increase of "Les Vignobles André Lurton" Company.
Jacques Lurton now runs the family estates, he was nominated president of the group by his family in June 2019. His vast winemaking experience around the world over 30 years, has given him inspired and creative vision which he “now” transmits to the Vignobles Andre Lurton. Les Vignobles André Lurton has 640 hectares of vines, planted in the best soils over 6 prestigious Bordeaux appellations in Bordeaux.
Vineyard and Winery
The grapes for Chateau de Rochemorin Rouge are grown in deep gravel on vines with an average age of 20 years. The double Guyot trellised vines are mostly hand harvested with a little extra help from machines. The grapes are sorted at the winery before entering the fermentation vessel.
Fermentation was done in stainless-steel temperature controlled tanks with a patented cap-breaking system. Fermentation temperature - 28° to 30°C. This was followed by Malolactic conversion and the wine was then matured for 12 months in oak barrels (30-40% new) with racking each trimester.
