A limited release from Fife's family-owned farm distillery. Distilled in summer 2013 and matured for 13 years before bottling in June 2026, it draws on a selection of fourteen first-fill ex-bourbon barrels matured on the upper level of the dunnage warehouse. The barley variety Concerto was grown in the South fields and harvested on the 2nd & 3rd of September 2011. it was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the spring of 2012.
Tasting Notes:
At 46% abv, this American Standard Barrel forward spirit is a fantastic meeting of those distinct barley sugar, shortbread with warm spice notes we have grown to associate with Daftmill. This batch leans into a softer side of the distillery, inviting sweetness on the nose, with gentle porridge oats laced with tinned peaches and a lingering honeyed apricot finish on the palate.
About the Producer
Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm’s quiet periods; midsummer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.
