Crafted by the instinctive skills of Glencadam's Master Distiller, this single malt has been aged in prime ex-bourbon casks, before being finished with Oloroso Sherry butts handpicked from the dunnage warehouses. This 15-year-old Scotch showcases an alternate face of Glencadam, having been given more time to mature in sherry casks.
Nose
This 15-year-old 2007 Reserve treats the senses to thick fragrances of praline, toasted nuts, honey and candied citrus rinds.
Palate
Layers of sweet maple pecan Danish, sultanas, milk chocolate and heather honey are combined with nutmeg and oak spice nuances.
Finish
Delicious nuances of apple strudel and custard tarts that persist into a pleasingly spicy and espresso coffee finish.
About the Producer
Glencadam Distillery was built in 1825, within the Royal Burgh of Brechin, where heritage, tradition and hand crafting combine to create an elegant East Highland Single Malt.
Glencadam is located in the ancient city of Brechin, in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland. In 2021, a working water wheel was re-installed in the heart of Glencadam Distillery, a nod back to how the distillery was powered back in 1825.
Unusually, Glencadam’s stills have lyne arms that run upwards at an angle of 15 degrees, this encourages significant reflux which helps to produce a single malt which is characterised by its tropical and orchard fruit flavours.
All their age statement whiskies are bottled at 46% and are neither chill filtered nor coloured to retain the whisky's natural characteristics.
