`The Holy Snail` Sauvignon Blanc IGP Val de Loire is a pale yellow and green coloured wine from the Loire Valley in France. Its expressive nose has notes of grapefruit, gooseberry, pear, and lime with a hint of tropical fruit. The palate is round, fleshy, and perfumed with a delicate touch of sweetness. Enjoy a bright and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc.
About the Producer
TYDY stands for Thierry Delaunay, the fifth-generation of the Delaunay family at the helm of Domaine Joël Delaunay. A specialist in the Loire, Thierry sources the fruit for these wines from across the valley, some of which he buys from long-standing grower friends and colleagues. These IGP Val de Loire wines offer excellent value.
Vineyard and Winery
The Holy Snail Sauvignon Blanc is a blend created by Thierry Delaunay using prime parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from his network of grower friends across the Touraine region of the Loire Valley. Soils here are predominantly clay and silex.
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were gently pressed. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks at 16°C to retain the bright aromatics of the Sauvignon. Following fermentation, the wine was matured on its fine lees for a brief period to add texture to the palate, before being fined, filtered and bottled in early spring.
