This Lindores Abbey Limited Edition STR (Shaved, Toasted and Re-charred) Wine Barrique Whisky has been matured exclusively in Spanish Red Wine Barriques.  It is aged 3 years and hails from "the officially recognised site of the first recorded distillation of Scottish Whisky, at Lindores Abbey, back in 1494."

The colour is a beautiful crisp clear dark chestnut and makes you want to draw it to your nose to appreciate the mellow aromas of fruity apricot jam, notes of toffee and cinnamon with a backbone of butter and fresh properly made custard.

The palate is sweet and spicy, more mellow fruity notes of plum and red berries along with treacle, cinnamon and a pleasant woody smoke.  The feel is very soft, smooth and silky and the finish is lasting with spices, honey and caramel notes.
