The second label of Château La Lagune is a delightfully balanced red wine. This Moulin du Château La Lagune, Haut-Médoc is ruby-hued delicious ready to drink Bordeaux which reveals intense aromas of dark fruit, nutmeg, and floral notes. On the palate you will experience ripe and crunchy red and black fruit that's been tamed by oak aging and rounded out by supple tannins. An impressive, savoury freshness lingers on the long finish. An absolute must-try especially with the foods of Autumn and Winter.
Vineyard and Winery
A wine with real pedigree, produced from the young vines of 3rd Classed Growth Château La Lagune in the Haut-Médoc. The entire vineyard is certified organic farmed biodynamically and forming part of a project to develop a rich and diverse ecosystem within the estate. The terroir of La Lagune is made up of light gravel and silica. Traditional destemming, with 3 weeks of maceration and gentle extraction. The wine spends 12 months aging in French oak barrels of which 40% are new.
This is a straightforward traditional claret that will go well with all your full-flavoured red meat. It can be enjoyed straight from the bottle if you have unexpected guests, but decanting in advance will enhance your enjoyment. I would say that this is good value for money, and you will have to open your wallet wider if you are looking for a better wine.
