Vineyard and Winery

Granitic soil composition underlies this blend of grapes from the Barreiro vineyard where the vines have an average age of 30 years and Vale das Escadinhas (80 yrs) grapes, cultivated with a south-facing aspect and at 450m above sea-level, producing 40hl/ha.

Grapes were hand-harvested and kept cold for 24 hours before total destemming. After gentle crushing, a temperature-controlled fermentation of 10-16°C took place in stainless steel vats for 29 days. Batonnage was conducted periodically to preserve freshness and add complexity to the texture.

A nice white

The clue is in the title, it was nice and pleasant but not memorable. Nice fruity notes but I prefer more body. Nice to drink on a sunny afternoon. There are probably better options on the supermarket shelf at half the price.
