About the Producer

Chateau d’Esclans, a magical property, is situated in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez. With his acquisition of the Château in 2006, Sacha Lichine’s vision was to create the greatest rosés in the world, igniting the “Rosé Renaissance”. Now in its sixteenth vintage, Château d’Esclans is home to Whispering Angel amongst others.

Sacha Lichine is a man of pedigree. His father, of Russian descent, and American mother, had built their wealth and reputation with a Bordeaux business which included Chateaux Prieurie Lichine and Lascombes in Margaux. Sacha Lichine has continued with the family tradition for innovation, by drawing on his wide experience of winemaking and his keen understanding of consumer needs a range of contemporary Mediterranean wines with the ‘chicken’ labels, whose fruit forward style makes them immediately enjoyable. They are southern French with a distinct New World accent.

Vineyard and Winery

From best terroirs from the Var region, The Pale rosé is made from grapes sourced from amongst the most choice Vineyards in the Vin de Pays/ IGP Var region. Harvesting is conducted during the night time to avoid the heat of the day and to keep the crop fresh. The Pale is vinified in Stainless Steel, Temperature Controlled, Fermentation Tanks, remaining on the lees, in order to give texture to the juices.
