About the Producer
A family winery located in Cuzcurrita del río Tirón with more than 150 years of history.
Salvador Urbina in 1870 moved to Cuzcurrita and produced the first wine wines, with vineyards still used in Urbina wines.
His sons Ciriaco and Paquita continue the profession, and they are Pedro and Jesús Angel, grandchildren of Salvador, who in 1986 began to produce in the current cellar in stainless steel tanks.
Currently the winery is lead by the fourth generation, Angel, Pedro and Santiago are important professionals in the sector, (researchers, engineers and doctors), backed by a great winemaking experience.
Vineyard and Winery
Produced only with grapes from their own vineyards, employing respectful viticulture, with organic fertilisers, maintaining the richness and structure of the soil, contributing to the fruit, the essence that characterises Urbina wines. The cultivation is done in traditional bush and double cordon, without forcing production with yields between 5,000 and 6,500 Kgrs./Ha, following traditional practices and limiting the use of pesticides and fungicides. During the elaboration, native yeasts are used that give the wine a unique personality, the complexity of Urbina wines.
